Coverage for an automatic blood pressure monitor is limited to reasonable charges for a sphygmomanometer with cuff and stethoscope, unless documentation establishes that the patient's condition does not permit conventional blood pressure monitoring. If this is the case, reimbursement is limited to the least expensive automatic blood pressure monitor that is medically effective.
