Covered by Medicare if the physician's prescription establishes the medical necessity for a rolling chair, and it has been prescribed in lieu of a wheelchair. Coverage is limited to those rolling chairs with casters at least 5 inches in diameter, that have been designed specifically for impaired individuals.
